GeSY is the universal healthcare system of Cyprus, fully operational since 2020. This guide explains who qualifies, how to register, what the system covers, and how contributions work in 2026.
Who is covered
GeSY covers all persons legally residing in Cyprus: employees, self-employed, pensioners and their dependents. EU citizens exercising free movement rights qualify immediately upon registration. Non-EU residents require a valid residence permit.
