Cyprus has a well-developed higher education sector. All degrees from accredited Cypriot universities are recognised across the European Union.
University of Cyprus (UCY)
The flagship public university, located in Nicosia. Strong programmes in engineering, computer science, medicine and social sciences. Tuition for EU/Cypriot students: €0–€1,700/year. Non-EU international students: €6,800–€10,200/year. Primary language of instruction: Greek, with select English-taught programmes.
Cyprus University of Technology (CUT)
Located in Limassol. Known for engineering, geotechnical sciences, technology and architecture. Fees for EU students: minimal. Non-EU: €6,000–€9,000/year. Several programmes taught in English.
European University Cyprus (EUC)
Private institution with campuses in Nicosia and Limassol. Fully English-language programmes in business, law, health sciences, media and education. Annual tuition: €8,000–€14,000. Recognised by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation (CYQAA).
Frederick University
Private, Nicosia and Limassol campuses. Business, engineering, law and communication. Tuition: €6,000–€9,500/year. Strong English-language MBA.
Neapolis University Paphos
Boutique private university in Paphos. Law, architecture, hotel management and business. Tuition: €5,500–€8,000/year.
EU recognition
All Cypriot degrees are recognised within the EU through the NARIC (National Academic Recognition Information Centre) system in each member state. Student cost of living: approximately €700–€1,200/month including shared accommodation, food and transport.
