Despite its small size, Cyprus offers remarkable variety for outdoor enthusiasts — from Troodos mountain trails and winter skiing to world-class wreck diving and year-round Mediterranean beaches.
Hiking
The Cyprus Tourism Organisation maintains an extensive network of marked trails:
- Atalante Trail (12 km): Circular route around Mount Olympus (1,952 m). Best April–November.
- Caledonian Falls Trail (3 km): Leads to the island highest waterfall (~12 m). Family-friendly.
- Akamas Peninsula trails: Coastal paths through the Aphrodite Hills area with panoramic sea views.
- Platres to Troodittissa Monastery (7 km): Through fragrant pine forests.

- Paphos: Kitesurfing at Pissouri Bay
